pt and px

One of the problems I have with spacing is the mixing of units.  The simple solution is for me to assume that 1pt is the same as 1px.  So I would assume that your 16pt font is 16px high (including vertical whitespace in the font).  This is actually how it is in my browser.  If you can make sure this also true for you, then I can fix everything fairly easily.

This is not the case. There are a few issues:

1) I tested in my default resolution (72) and 16pt is 13px high.

2) If the resolution is changed then the pixel hight completely changes, for example at (300) resolution 16pt becomes 70px high.
