terminology

I would like to agree on terminology which should be used in all of our themes and in our code to match.  We currently have:

board -> category -> forum -> thread -> post

I suggest:

forum -> category -> subforum -> topic -> post

This seems less geeky to me and actually makes more logical sense.

Using this terminology, we would have these options in increasing complexity:

forum -> topic -> post
forum -> subforum -> topic -> post
forum -> category -> subforum -> topic -> post

We can discuss this in the meeting.

Re: terminology

Sounds fine to me.

The only reason to have "Board" was because phpBB people call it "Board". But see this https://www.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=forum,board Sticking with "forum" is better.

"Topic" and "Thread" are about the same https://www.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=topic,thread but facebook's "trending topic" feature will make topic more common. plus, "thread" people understand "topic", but "topic" people probably don't understand "thread". So topic is better.
